Story 041a: Tara Becomes Kind Again

Story 041a: Tara Becomes Kind Again

Story 041aN: Tara Becomes Kind Again
Tara lived in Nepal with her mother, father, and her brother, Dinesh.
Tara used to be very kind. She helped Mama in the kitchen. She played nicely with Dinesh.
She always said, “Please” and “Thank you.”
But one day, Tara got upset. “Rita, my classmate, got a big chocolate from her parents! Why didn’t I
get one from you, Mother and Father?” she shouted.
She stopped helping. She shouted at Dinesh. She was not kind anymore.
Mother and Father were sad. “What happened to our kind Tara?” they said.
Dinesh had an idea. “Can I go to the SSSSB class near our home?” he asked.
“Meena Ma’am and Gita Ma’am teach good things there.”
Mother and Father smiled. “Yes, Dinesh. You can go.”
After a few classes, Dinesh said to Tara, “Come with me. The SSSSB class is peaceful and fun.”
Tara thought. She missed being kind. She missed smiling.
She said, “Yes. I want to try again.”
Now Tara is kind again. She helps Mama.
She plays nicely with Dinesh. She is happy—just like before.

Story 041bN: The Challenges Parents and Children Face Today

Story 041b: The Challenges Parents and Children Face Today

Story 041bN: The Challenges Parents and Children Face Today (For children aged 10 and above)

Story 041bN: The Challenges Parents and Children Face Today
Once upon a time, there was a family with a father, a mother, and two children: Tara (15) and Dinesh
(12).
When they were younger, they listened well, helped around the house, and were always polite.
But as they got older, Tara began to change.
“Why can’t I have a phone?” she asked one day. “Santa in my class is 14 and has one—and I’m 15!”
She didn’t speak as kindly as she used to.
Tara began copying the behavior of a friend who often talked back to her parents. She became more
stubborn, showed less respect, and hardly helped her little brother with homework
anymore—something she used to enjoy.
The parents felt sad.
“What should we do?” they wondered. “When we try to talk to her, she doesn’t really listen…”
Then Dinesh said, “Mom, Dad, I know why you're upset—it’s about Didi, right? I have an idea. Can I
tell you?” They looked at him, surprised, and nodded.
Dinesh said: “There’s a girl in my class who goes to the SSSSB class. She’s become very wise and
helps others with their problems. Maybe you can talk to someone from the SSSSB class too.
And… can I also join the SSSSB class? Meena ma'am and Gita ma'am teach nearby, and if it rains or
it’s too cold, I can join online. Can I start next week, please?”
The parents looked at each other and felt hopeful again.
“Of course you can go to the Balkot classes!” they said with joy.
“Why didn’t you tell us this earlier?”
Dinesh replied: “Because I’ve been watching how Didi is changing, and it makes me sad too. I want to
become wiser, so I can help her—just like she always helped me when I was small.”
Today’s Question: If the parents called you for help, what tips and solutions would you give them?

Ssssb Story 042a – The Bird Mission of Milan and Kiran [ for 5-9 years]

Ssssb Story 042a – The Bird Mission of Milan and Kiran [ for 5-9 years]
Ssssb Story 042a – The Bird Mission of Milan and Kiran

Milan and Kiran were two cheerful boys from Nepal. They loved playing football together on the school playground.
But every time there was a match, they made lots of mistakes. They kicked the ball too quickly, didn’t look carefully, and got upset when things went wrong.

One day, their sports teacher said: “You’re good, but you need more patience and focus.”

Milan asked: “What is focus?”
The teacher smiled: “It means paying attention and staying calm.”

She gave the boys a special task: “Every evening from 5 to 5:30 o'clock, go outside and count how many birds fly over your house. Write it down and come back next week.”

The boys thought it was strange, but they did it anyway.
The first day, they shouted: One! Two! Five! Or was it four?”
They lost count, laughed a lot, and got distracted.

The next day, the teacher said: “Try again. Count calmly. Watch carefully. Don’t get distracted.”

After a few days, Milan and Kiran got much better at counting. They stayed quiet, paid close attention, and made no more mistakes.
And guess what? In the next football match, they played really well! They stayed calm, focused, and even scored!

The sports teacher clapped her hands and said: “Bravo! You’ve learned it — with patience and focus, you can become beter and beter!”

Ssssb Story 042b – Patience and Focus: The Secret of Suhani and Saanvi
(For 10 and older)

Ssssb Story 042b – Patience and Focus: The Secret of Suhani and Saanvi
(For 10 and older)

Ssssb Story 042b – Patience and Focus: The Secret of Suhani and Saanvi

Suhani (13) and Saanvi (14) were close friends. Both of them loved sports and dreamed of one day becoming excellent at their favorite game — Suhani in volleyball, and Saanvi in football.

They trained hard every single day and never gave up. During practice, they played incredibly well — but whenever there was a match or a tournament, things would fall apart.

They got nervous, forgot what to do, and made mistakes they never made during practice. No matter how much they wanted to do well, they couldn’t perform when it really counted.

Disappointed and sad, they went to visit Madam Sporty, an experienced coach who had once played on Nepal’s national team.

They greeted her cheerfully: “Sairam, Madam Sporty!”
And they shared everything — about their training, their effort, and the sadness they felt when they failed.

Madam Sporty listened carefully. Then she smiled and said:
“Sairam, girls. Don’t worry. You both have talent. But you’re still missing something important. If you do what I ask, you’ll grow — not only as athletes, but as people too.”

🕊️ Week 1 – The Bird Assignment
“Every day between 5:00 and 6:00 PM, count how many birds fly over your house. Write it down and come back next week.”
She added firmly: “Patience and focus.”

On their way home, Suhani said, “I don’t see how this has anything to do with volleyball or football…”

Saanvi replied, “Madam Sporty is the most respected coach in the country. If she says something, I trust her. Let’s just do what she asks.”

For one week, they faithfully counted the birds. But when they returned, Madam Sporty shook her head: “More patience, more focus. This week, count how many birds fly from east to west and how many from west to east. See you next week!”

The girls realized  “She’s right. We weren’t patient or focused. But how did she know?”

🦜 Week 2 – Direction and Attention
The second week went better. They paid close attention to the direction each bird was flying.

When they came back, Madam Sporty said: “Much better — but still: more patience, more focus.”

Then came the next task: “This week, between 5:00 and 6:00 PM, only count parrots. For each parrot, write down its color and any special details. Good luck!”

On the way home, Suhani said: “Parrots? I’ve never even seen a parrot flying in our town! Is she playing a trick on us? I’ll just write down zero parrots.”

Saanvi smiled: “No, Madam Sporty would never trick us. You know, I got the best school test scores I’ve ever had this week. I really think I’ve become more patient and focused thanks to counting birds. “That’s true,”Suhani added, surprised. “I also got my best scores ever!”

🎯 Week 3 – The Surprise
After week 3, the girls returned excitedly. Both had counted exactly 108 parrots flying over their homes.
Madam Sporty beamed: “Mission accomplished. You’ve understood the lesson. Keep using this patience and focus, and you will shine — not just in sports, but in everything you do.”

Suddenly, they heard a voice: “Sairam, Suhani and Saanvi! Congratulations! So much patience, so much focus, well counted!”

They looked around but saw no one. Then the voice said: “I’m right here!” And a parrot flew to Madam Sporty’s shoulder.

The girls gasped: “That’s the parrot we saw every day! No wonder they all looked exactly the same. That was you, wasn’t it?”

The parrot chuckled: Kraa Kraa…, Suhani and Saanvi… I’m not telling you that – it’s my little secret, hee hee! But big congratulations to you both: so much patience, so much focus… well done! Keep up the good work, okay? … Saaai Raaam!
And then the parrot flew away.

From that moment on, Suhani and Saanvi didn’t just become great athletes — they also became calm, patient, and focused young people.
And everyone noticed — on the field, at school, and at home.

SSSSB Story 043a: “Lila Wants to Go Abroad Later”

SSSSB Story 043a: “Lila Wants to Go Abroad Later”

Lila and Dharmi were sitting on a little wall, watching the birds flying in front of the mountains.

“I want to work in another country when I grow up,”said Lila.

Dharmi said, “I hear that a lot. But it’s not always easy over there, you know.”

Lila looked surprised. “Why not?”

Dharmi said: “My cousin is in Japan, and my brother is in Australia. They earn more money than in Nepal!But they had to borrow a lot of money. My cousin misses Nepal and sometimes cries on the phone. My brother says Australia is more fun. He only speaks English now and doesn’t want to come back.”

“Oh,”said Lila softly. “That’s sad.”

Dharmi smiled. “That’s why I want to stay here. I love Nepal. I want to help my family and make our country better. That is my dharma.”

Lila thought for a moment. “Can I help too?”

Of course!”said Dharmi. “We can do something beautiful for Nepal together!”

The two girls jumped down from the wall and ran back to the village, laughing.

Today’s question: “What can you do in Nepal to help make our country even more beautiful?”

SSSSB Story 043b: “Really? Yes, really!”

SSSSB Story 043b: “Really? Yes, really!”

Dharmik and Dipak were having a conversation, sitting on a stone wall overlooking the mountains. The sun was slowly setting behind the hills.

“I’m thinking about going abroad to work in the future,”said Dipak.

“Oh, really?”said Dharmik. “My brother has been working in Qatar for years, my sister is in South Korea, and my cousin even works in Japan.”

“Really? That’s impressive,”said Dipak, his eyes wide. “At least you have family abroad. In my family, no one has ever gone further than Kathmandu Airport.”

Dipak continued, “I also want to go abroad — not for myself, but for my family. If I work abroad, I can earn well and send money home.
Many young people do that. I want to support my parents too.”

There was a moment of silence. Dharmik looked at his friend and then said calmly: “That’s brave of you, Dipak. But things aren’t always as perfect as they seem.
My family also expects me to go abroad… but I want to stay in Nepal.”

Dipak looked surprised.“What? You? You have such a big opportunity to build your future and
help your family! You must be joking?”

Dharmik shook his head. “No, my good friend. I mean it. Let me give you four examples from what I’ve seen”:

Example1: “My brother, sister, and cousin all faced a lot of difficulties.
They had to borrow money to be able to leave. It took years to repay the debt.
"And now the people we had borrowed money from look at us with slanted eyes and no longer speak to us, because it took longer to repay the borrowed money than we had promised."

Dipak: “Really?” Dharmik: Yes, really”. Now, example2:  “My sister has changed. She’s become very arrogant.
She acts like she’s the queen of South Korea.
She feels superior to other Nepalis just because she lives abroad.”

Dipak: “Really?”

Dharmik: “Yes, really”.Then example3:  “My brother is still kind, but he looks down on Nepal now.
He says everything in Qatar is better. He doesn’t appreciate our country anymore.”

Dipak: “Really?”
Dharmik: “Yes, my friend. Really”.And example4: My cousin is also kind,
but he no longer respects our culture. He only speaks English with us, even though we don’t understand it well. He even refuses to speak Nepali with our grandparents, our mother and father.”

Dipak: “Really?”
Dharmik: “Yes, really. Though he’s still sweet sometimes. Recently he brought me a Japanese game – Riichi Mahjong. I asked him to explain the rules, but he did so in English. I didn’t understand anything! Luckily, I know Rayan from Balkot – he knows all the SSSSB gift games and explains them clearly to all students who don’t understand.”

Dipak fell silent for a while. He looked at the birds and the mountains.

“So, what are you going to do?”he asked softly.

“I’m staying here,”said Dharmik firmly. “I want to follow my dharma with love – because that is the right thing for my family, my village, my country… and especially to show gratitude to the many saints, and to my Sita Mata, my Lord Buddha, and my Swami. I want to build something here. I don’t want to run away. It might be harder, but in the long run, it will be better.”

Dipak: “But how do you think about these things? How do you see it this way?”

Dharmik: “I learned that in the SSSSB class, from my SSSSB Gurus.”

Dipak: “Balkot is too far for me. Otherwise, I’d go every week.”

Dharmik: “Distance isn’t a problem. You can join through Zoom!”

Dipak: “Really? It’s just a shame I don’t have a phone or laptop.”

Dharmik: “No problem, Dipak. Just come to my house on Saturday. Guru Daju sends the Zoom codes at 8:30, and class begins at 9:00!”

The two boys smiled. They stayed in Nepal. Not only that — they started a business together and did a lot of seva. Today, they run three businesses across Nepal,
employing 108 young people who work joyfully and help build their nation.
